FAITH FACT: Feed My Sheep – According to the Gospel of John, Jesus performed his last recorded miracle (after resurrection) by overwhelming the disciples’ fishing nets with a huge catch. Then came the reinstatement of Peter who denied knowing Jesus three times.  Jesus questioned Peter… three times! “Peter, do you love me?”  . It is during this questioning that Jesus gives Peter the famous charge to “Feed my sheep.”

LUNCH MENU FOR MAY

IMMUNIZATION / PHYSICAL LETTERS
Letters were sent out to inform families that students entering grades 7, 1 and K must fulfill certain health requirements before they are able to advance.  6th graders need the Tdap before entering 7th grade.  Kindergarteners must complete a physical before 1st grade and TK must have a 2nd MMR. Immunization requirements are the same for children ages 4-6.  Physicals & vaccines are mandated by California law.  Please let the office know if your child has received any additional immunizations.  Student health records can be updated at any time for any grade.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER:  We will gather in the church on Thursday, May 03, to pray for our nation and pledge to do our best to be a good citizen.  Does anyone have a relative in the military, fire dept, or police dept, who would would accept our invitation to attend. Let me know and I will create a notice to be sent home with the student.

CALLING ALL PARENTS OF FUTURE SEVENTH & EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS
Have you ever thought about taking your child on a trip cross country to visit our nation’s capitol or sites from the American Revolution and Civil War? Do you want to give your student a chance to see and experience history rather than just read about it?  Next year, Saint Justin Martyr School will be sponsoring our bi-annual trip to the east coast. This trip is open to both future seventh and eighth graders and the registration can be completed online. The company sponsoring the trip is called Academic Expeditions and has as its clientele many other schools in the Diocese of Orange and across the country. On this trip we will be fortunate to visit four major locations: Boston, Gettysburg, Washington D.C., and New York. This will be an action packed week not to be missed. If you are interested, please visit the company website at https://www.academicexpeditions.com/ and enter the trip code SJMS2019. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity. Please register by June 2018. The amount of registered participants will directly affect the trip cost, so the more people who register the less expensive the trip will be. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Faecke (the eighth grade teacher) at ms.faecke@sjm-k8.com or refer to one of the trip posters posted around the school. Don’t delay…we’ll see you on the east coast!
