School-wide Learning Expectation:
A SJM Student is…
a responsible individual who practices safety and good health habits.
Dear SJM Families,
At SJM, the teachers get to know everyone of their students well, not just in the classroom, but in sports, in drama productions, or other after school programs. Teachers, students and parents share their faith at Opening Ceremonies and masses. Seeing your child in many different lights gives teachers insights that enhance the whole learning process. Students are free to discuss ideas and problems with their teachers. They trust their teachers. At SJM, every teacher is an adviser. SJM School provides a safe environment where your child can explore ideas and it provides the guidance that ensures your child won’t get lost.

FAITH FACT: Advent – A Time of Preparation – Advent is the start of a new liturgical year and encompasses the time from the fourth Sunday before Christmas until the Nativity of Our Lord is celebrated. The first Sunday of Advent is the Sunday nearest the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle (on November 30th), and so it will always fall between November 27th and December 3rd. The word ‘Advent’ is from the Latin ‘Adventus,’ which means ‘coming’. It is a time of preparation for the arrival of our Lord. The Advent wreath is part of a long-standing Catholic tradition. The four candles represent the four weeks of Advent. Each week represents one thousand years, to sum to the 4,000 years from Adam and Eve until the Birth of the Savior.
Thank you for your dedication to your child’s school.
Sincerely in Christ,
