School-wide Learning Expectation:

An SJM Student Is:
An active faith-filled learner who learns about the Catholic faith

Dear SJM Families,

DROP OFF: We have the drop off and pick up procedure down pat and we thank you very much for cooperating with it.  Please always, be courteous, be patient, be safe.  SAFETY DOESN’T HAPPEN BY ACCIDENT!

FAMILY: God sure knew what he was doing when he designed families.  GOOD ADVICE: Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick.  Your family and friends will.  Stay in touch and develop your relationships with family.

PROGRESS REPORTS: These reports are ready halfway to the report cards (SLAs).  They help you support your child’s next efforts.  Do not compare your child to other children, including siblings.  Compare the first SLA with the next one and measure your child’s progress.  You will get the most and the best from your child  by praising her/him to success.

LUNCH SUPERVISION:  We have a couple spots left for lunch supervision on Wed. and Thurs.  This is a good way to receive your service hours.  Contact me or Christina Hernandez (2nd grade aide)

JOG: The jog is coming…NOVEMBER 09, 2017

TRUNK OR TREAT: Happy Halloween…October 28, 2017, 6:00-9:00 pm

FAITH FACT: The moth of the Holy Rosary – October is the month of the Holy Rosary, and October 7 marks the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary.  The word “Rosary” means ‘Crown of Roses’ in Latin.  According to church history,  Mother Mary appeared to St. Dominic back in the year 1206 and gave him the Rosary as a weapon, explained its uses and told him to spread the devotion to the Holy Rosary.  The modern Rosary contains five decades (five sets of 10 Hail Mary…).  There are 15 traditional mysteries—three sets of five Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries.  In 2004, Pope John Paul II, a staunch devotee of the Holy Rosary, added five Luminous mysteries.   As Mother Mary promised to the three little children Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, many favors are granted to those who pray the Rosary.  As Catholics, it is a great habit to pray the Rosary daily as a family and carry your own Rosary with you all the time.

St. Justin Martyr School…
not just a school, but a family!

God bless SJM families.

This is a great way to take your children to an event where you know the community and can feel safe.  If you are interested in having your car included in trunk or treat, please email Erin Frisbie at or call/text 714-928-5592.

St. Justin Martyr School class of 1976, it is time for a reunion.  A gathering is planned for October 21, 2017.  It is time to dust off the yearbooks and find the old photos of that bicentennial year.  Let’s get together to catch up, tell the old stories, and share all those memories.  If you were part of that wonderful class, or if you know someone who was, we want to hear from you. Please contact Robin Randall at 714/875-8977 or or Patty Curran Buehler at 714/270-6698 or
